Neapolitan

Hi there!  Just me checking in with a card I made this week for Some Odd Girl's July Challenge!  It's Anything Goes with a SOG image, but there is an optional theme of Water or Blue/Green.  I did it all!  Lol

This is Puffer Cone Mermaid and I fell in love the moment I saw her!  She is colored with Copics and a white gel pen.  I colored her pufferfish cone to look like Neapolitan ice cream with strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate "scoops".  I then fussy cut her and popped her up with foam squares.  The rest of the card is assembled using a few dies from my collection.  I used Open Hearts Doily Border, Lattice Border, Wave Border, Seaweed Border, and Anchor from La-La Land Crafts as well as Loopy Rings (Memory Box) and a mermaid from Michaels Recollections Enchanting collection.  The branches are a Martha Stewart punch.  After all that it didn't need much else but some pretty flowers.

Hope you liked her!  I'm using her as a Thank You card for my neighbor who cat sit for us this Summer.  She loves mermaids so I thought it was perfect.

Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Krista's Art Endures

Hello again! I'm home with a sick little man today so while he rests and recoups (naps intermingled with games of Minecraft) I thought I'd blog.  Today I have a few Saturated Canary (Krista Leigh Smith Art) creations to share with you.  When the news that Saturated Canary was closing hit there was a deep sense of sadness in the crafting community!  But luckily she has continued with subscription based offerings, custom images, and, most recently, a collection offered through Make It Crafty!  Her art endures and I couldn't be happier!  Now for my projects...

First is an image from the Decade Fashion collection that Krista did a couple of years ago.  This is 80s Decade Fashion and I've used her for a friend's birthday card.  She is colored with Copics.  I love the Cassette Tape die and Playlist stamp set that I have from My Favorite Things and always tend to use them for any 80s themed projects I make.  The rest of the dies are from La-La Land Crafts.  Here I've used Lattice Doily Border, Lattice Border, Heart Banner, Scalloped Trim Banner, Presets Border, and Filigree Candle.A cluster of flowers and a sprinkling of sequins are my embellishments of choice this time.

This one is a card I made for my best friend for Cinco De Mayo  (I know...  I'm a just a tad late in sharing it) using Dance.  She is colored with Copics and cut using Stitched Tags (La-La Land Crafts).  I loaded the card with even more LLLC dies: Today Stitched, Celebrate You, Stitched Zigzags, Large Lacy Border, Sunburst, Cactus, Flag Banner, Southwestern Border, and Triangle Lace Border.  I simply added a few flowers to finish off the card.

Up next is the card I made for my son's 2nd grade teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day.  I colored Tea and a Book with Copics and cut her using Double Stitched Squares (La-La Land Crafts).  Other LLLC dies included are: Loopy Doily Border, Book Brackets, and Open Book.  For the first time I have used some new SugarPea Designs dies.  Here I've featured Teacher and the Read die from the Brainy Bookmarks set.  I love them!!!  Also included are Tim Holtz Mini Globe and Mini Clipboard (Sizzix).  The library card was made using some My Favorite Things products - 3x4 Insert die and Library Card stamp set.  I embellished with flowers and a Tim Holtz metal pen nib.

Since I had made her lots of cards already through the year (birthday, Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and the one above) I opted to make a bookmark for her end of the year gift.  I colored Present Day Reading Princess with Copics and fussy cut her.  I used the Brainy Bookmarks die and a sentiment from I Like Big Books (SugarPea Designs).  I presented it to her with a Target gift card.

Finally, I'm sharing the card I made for the strong, courageous, gorgeous, and always smiling Lou Daubney!  Lou is bravely battling cancer and throughout has never lost her sense of humor or her optimism!  Krista designed this image of Lou with all her favorite things for a special and secret group of crafters who made Lou encouragement cards back in the Spring.

I went a little overboard with the dies, but I figured Lou deserved the best!  Most of the dies are from La-La Land Crafts:  Stitched Tags, Stitched Elements, Open Hearts Doily Border, Heart Fan, Stitched Sun, Cherry Blossom Branch, Hot Air Balloon, Star Border, and World Heart Map.  The Unicorn is from Michaels Recollections Enchanting collection.  I added flowers and Lou's name in glitter chipboard letters.  I also added glossy accents to her glasses.  Once I was done it was shipped off to the UK to be added to the collection of cards and gifts for Lou and delivered in person by a few relatively local crafty angels!

Thanks for the visit!  I hope you like what you see!  I'll have more to share shortly as well as that exciting August news, coming soon!

Mo's Wizard Boy and Fighter

Hello!  How is everyone's Sunday going?  It's a beautiful day here but the small guy and I needed a day to just chill.  So while he's been watching YouTube and playing Minecraft, I have been updating my blog sidebar and wasting time on social media.  Lol  I figured since I got my blog spruced up (special thanks to Michelle of Evermore Creations for for fixing my layout due to a Photobucket issue!) I should probably post more cards!

Today I am sharing two from Mo's Digital Pencil.  My first card features Wizard Boy, and he (along with Wizard Girl) are must haves for any Harry Potter fans out there!  I've colored him with my Copics and fussy cut him.  This is sort of clean and simple compared to my usual, but I love that it allows the HP themed paper to shine.  The dies are all La-La Land Crafts, except for the Tim Holtz Star Cluser (Sizzix) at the topFrom LLLC, I've used Castle Border, Ornate Border Small, Book Brackets, and Make a Wish.

Next is Fighter.  This is the image that Mo made for the amazing Lou Daubney.  My aunt asked me to make a few thinking of you cards for her and this was one of her requests.  Fighter is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I've used Mini Globe (Tim Holtz Sizzix), Virtuoso Music and Music Notes (Memory Box) as well as Brackets and Arrows, Bohemian Feather, Stitched Elements, Sunburst Border, Winged Heart, and Star Border (La-La Land Crafts).  A few flowers add the final touch,

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are enjoying your evening!  I am off to cook dinner and then looking forward to the season premier of Game of Thrones Season 7!  Who else is watching?!  Any guesses on who will die next?  Lol  Plus tonight we may be able to see the Northern Lights where I live!  It's gonna be an interesting night!

Saying Goodbye

Hi!  How are things out there in Blogland?  Please accept my apologies for my sporadic blogging this year.  I have been crafting, but with working six days a week and, lately, a bit of Summer fun on the side, I just haven't been able to make time.

But today I felt was an occasion that needed to be marked as special.  Many of you know that KennyK Stamps closed its "doors" on June 30th.  As a design team member turned coordinator and Facebook admin it was a bitter sweet day.  Of course I will miss the awesome art, but what's more, I will miss the camaraderie and friendship!  Over the years Elena, Kenny, Lucy, and the team have become some of the best friends a girl can have!  I am happy and excited for the Kiernans next life chapter, but I can't help but be a little sad to see this one end.

Elena was accepting orders through today so I thought I would finally post this card I made for DT Therese on her 30th birthday.  I colored Color Me Janette with my Copics and fussy cut herThe dies are all from La-La-Land Crafts.  I've used Presents Border, Filigree Candle, Today Stitched, Celebrate You, Fancy Numbers, Lattice Doily, Lattice Doily Border, Tabs Border, and Double Stitched Squares.  I added some flowers from my stash for the finishing touch.

I will never forget my time with KennyK Stamps.  It has been an amazing experience!  And to be sure I will continue coloring and crafting with these fabulous images!

Thanks for your patience with my recent lackluster blogging...  I will have some fun and exciting stuff coming up next month so be sure to check back!
